2022 NBA Finals Prediction

2022 NBA Finals Prediction

The NBA Finals are finally set, and they will begin Thursday night. The Boston Celtics will take on the Golden State Warriors for the NBA championship. Boston wrapped up the Eastern Conference championship by beating the Miami Heat in seven games. Before that, the Celtics upended the defending champion Bucks in another seven-game series. In the much-anticipated opening round series, Boston swept the Brooklyn Nets. The Warriors defeated the Mavericks in five games to advance to the NBA Finals. Before that, Golden State took out the feisty Memphis Grizzlies in six games. In the first round, the Warriors downed the Denver Nuggets in five games. We have finally reached the end of the NBA season. Who will be the 2022 NBA Champions? Will the Celtics raise their 18th banner to break the tie with their rival Los Angeles Lakers? Can the Warriors win their fourth championship in 8 years?

Golden State Warriors

Golden State was favored in every series they played during the playoffs. Despite being the third seed, many thought a healthy Warriors team could make a championship run. The return of Klay Thompson has been great for this team, and he continues to get his legs back. Steph Curry played great on his way to winning the inaugural Magic Johnson award for Western Conference MVP. Jordan Poole had his moments, while Draymond Green and Kevin Looney held it down in the middle. Golden State is hopeful to get a key defender in Gary Payton II back from his fractured elbow during this series. This series against Boston will have its fair share of matchups that we are looking for. Can Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson slow down the tandem of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum? How will Steph Curry fare against defensive player of the year in Marcus Smart?

Boston Celtics

How much does the Boston Celtics have in the tank? While the Warriors have played a total of 11 games, the Celtics have gone seven games in their last two series. Honestly, my pick was the Miami Heat to advance in seven games in the Eastern Conference finals. Jayson Tatum has raised his game during these playoffs as it earned him the inaugural Larry Bird award. The award is now being award to the MVP of the Eastern Conference finals. Jaylen Brown has shown why he’s one of the best 2-way guards in the league. Marcus Smart has played great on both ends of the floor throughout the playoffs. This Boston team is battle tested and they are the toughest test for the Warriors. If possible, would the Celtics have another seven-game series in them? Can they pull off the upset seeing the Warriors open as the favorites.

Who Takes Home the Championship?

In my opinion, this is going to be an amazing NBA Finals and one that could go seven games. All these games should be competitive and hopefully there won’t be any blowouts. How will this Celtics team defend the Splash Brothers along with Jordan Poole? How about the Warriors trying to slow down Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown with multiple defenders? Can Al Horford lure Looney and Green out of the paint allowing the Celtics to score at will close to the rim? This should be a great series of chess between two great coaches? Golden State was my favorite to take home the championship this season if Klay was to come back. Klay came back and this is looking like the Warriors of old and Andrew Wiggins have stepped up also. In the end, I’m picking the Warriors to win it all in six games. Golden State Win Championship
