5 Teams Where Christian McCaffrey Could Land Via Trade

Christian McCaffrey has been one of the top running backs in the NFL for the past few years. Unfortunately, injuries have taken a toll on McCaffrey but he’s still one of the best backs in the NFL. The Carolina Panthers have been in shambles and it’s clear they’re likely headed to full rebuild mode. Coach Matt Rhule was fired a few weeks ago and Baker Mayfield went down with an ankle injury. The injury is looking like it will sideline Mayfield for at least 2-6 weeks. During the Panthers loss to the Rams, Robbie Anderson got into it with some of his coaches. Interim Coach Steve Wilkes dismissed him from the game, and they traded Anderson to Arizona this afternoon. Carolina is taking offers for Christian McCaffrey. Will he be traded? If so, where could he land. Below are 5 teams where Christian McCaffrey could land via trade.

 Los Angeles Rams

The defending Super Bowl champions offense haven’t been as dynamic as last season. They need a running back because they’re looking to move on from Cam Akers. It has been reported that he and Coach McVay doesn’t see eye-to-eye with each other. Matthew Stafford hasn’t looked like the same QB that led them to the championship. If they can add a dynamic back like McCaffrey, he would bring so much to the offense. While Christian McCaffrey is a great back running, he’s equally as dangerous catching passes out of the backfield. The Rams love making deals to improve their team, and this would make the offense much better.

Buffalo Bills

Buffalo is the best team in the AFC and arguably in the entire NFL. Devin Singletary continues to improve as a running back, but there’s a reason why Allen is one of their leading rushers. With Josh Allen, the Bills already have a great offense, but Christian McCaffrey is a difference maker. Buffalo already has one of the best receiving corps, but adding McCaffrey opens the offense much more. The Bills are all in on winning the championship this season and this move would make them that much better.

New England Patriots

New England is trying to establish their identity on offense. Mac Jones has been injured, but Bailey Zappe has stepped in nicely for the injured starter. Rhamondre Stevenson is one of the leading rushers in the NFL, but Christian McCaffrey would help the young QBs. With McCaffrey being a great back that can catch out of the backfield, he’ll become the safety blanket for the QB. Bill Belichick could pull the trigger and help the Patriots in the tough AFC East.

Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos need help on the offense. Russell Wilson haven’t looked the same since his arrival and is now playing through various injuries. Javonte Williams is lost for the season and Melvin Gordon III is their main running back. The Broncos is also trying to get their young receiving core to get used to Wilson. Christian McCaffrey would instantly open up the offense for the Broncos. McCaffrey is also familiar with Denver because his dad played for them for several years. The Denver faithful would welcome the hometown McCaffrey with open arms.

San Francisco 49ers

The Niners are 3-3 entering Week 7 of the season. San Francisco was one of the favorites to possibly reach the Super Bowl from the NFC. The defense is considered one of the best in the league, but they still need some work. On offense, they haven’t had the chance to open things up like they’re used to. Coach Shanahan gets the most out of his running backs and McCaffrey could be a game changer. Christian McCaffrey is a great runner and plus he’s one of the best backs catching the ball out of the backfield. With the 49ers having some urgency, don’t be surprised if they pulled the trigger on this trade.
