Da Good Da Bad & Da Ugly from Geto Boys Turns 25 Today

The Geto Boys are viewed as one of the most influential and greatest groups of all-time. They released a total of seven studio albums during their time together. The original members started off with the members Raheem, Prince Johnny C and Sire Jukebox. The debut album, Making Trouble was with Prince Johnny C, Sire Jukebox, DJ Ready Red and Bushwick Bill as members. They finally went platinum with their third album We Can’t Be Stopped in 1991. The members were Scarface, Willie D, and Bushwick Bill and their smash-hit was Mind Playing Tricks on Me. In 1998, the Geto Boys released their 6^th album Da Good Da Bad & Da Ugly. Da Good Da Bad & Da Ugly turns 25 years ago seeing it dropped on November 17^th in 1998. No official single was released from the album. The album went on to sell over 1.6 million copies.

The Outlawz, a young Beyonce, Yukmouth, Tela, and Devin the Dude were all featured on the album. Overall, this was a good album from the Geto Boys in my opinion. This Geto Boys only consisted of Scarface and Willie D. Out of the 17 full tracks, I’ll say about 10 of them are good songs. During this time, nobody would work with the Outlawz after Pac passed, but they were featured on a couple joints. As mentioned, a young Beyonce sang the chorus for the track Gangsta (Put me Down).
