Dave East Don’t Shoot for Throwback Thursday

Dave East is one of my favorite rappers of the new generation. When I say new, it’s anything after the mid-2000s. The Harlem rapper put out his first mixtape all the way back in 2010. In total, Dave East have dropped 15 mixtapes, a couple collaborative joints, an EP and two studio albums. East is signed with Nas and his Mass Appeal label, so that tells you he’s the truth. A couple weeks ago, he released his second studio album titled Fortune Favors the Bold. The new joint is the follow-up to his studio debut from 2019 called Survival. After hearing about him for a minute in 2016 he dropped his Kairi Chanel mixtape. I’ve been a fan ever since and have gone back to listen to his older stuff. The Kairi Chanel mixtape showed a lot of versatility as an MC.

Cam’ron, Beanie Sigel, 2 Chainz, The Game and Fabolous all made appearances on the mixtape. The one track that grabbed my attention was the last song and it’s called Don’t Shoot. Don’t Shoot is an amazing song and it’s my featured Throwback Thursday joint. The Kairi Chanel mixtape is dope and so is his new album. Check out the track Don’t Shoot up above. Below you can peep the track listing and stream link for the Kairi Chanel project.
