Gambino Family Ghetto Organized Released 25 Years Ago

In 1998, No Limit Records was the top rap label in the game, and it wasn’t even close. They were releasing album after album almost every other week. Two weeks ago was the 25^th anniversary of Prime Suspects releasing their Guilty Till Proven Innocent album. No Limit Records dropped a total of 24 albums in 1998. When you look back at it, this is unprecedented for a label to drop that many albums. Gambino Family was another group Master P signed to the label and they dropped an album also. 25 years ago, today Gambino Family dropped their Ghetto Organized album. Lil Gotti, Melchoir, Pheno and Reginelli were the members of the Gambino Family. Before they released their album, they appeared on the I’m Bout It Soundtrack and on Fiend and Soulja Slim’s album. Ghetto Organized is an album that I’m more appreciative of now that I’m older.

While making my list of 27 No Limit albums you should have, this one didn’t make it. Ghetto Organized is one of the better albums to be released on No Limit Records. It debuted as a top-5 album on the Billboards R&B charts. They sold over 160,000 in their first week and the only promotion came from other No Limit albums. No official singles were released, but Studio B and Childhood Years were put out for promotional usage. Ghetto Organized is a great album and one that sounds better with time. Like every other No Limit album, all the soldiers appeared on this album. Below are my top 5 tracks from the album.
