Ice Cube is one of the greatest rappers to ever touch the mic. Cube’s writing is responsible for the classic work from N.W.A. After he left the group, Cube dropped a pair of classics in AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted and Death Certificate. The body of work alone is enough to say he’s one of the best to ever do it. You can throw in the Westside Connection album and let’s not bring up his music credentials. Recently, Tony Yayo was on Drink Champs and he and DJ EFN got into a heated argument. The argument was over Biggie versus Ice Cube and things got very heated. This has been an ongoing debate as to who’s the better storyteller and who’s better. Biggie is higher on my list, but Cube is the better storyteller of the two. Ice Cube’s third studio album was called The Predator.

Like all Cube albums then, a lot of people were trying to censor him. The Predator went double platinum, and it produced one of his biggest singles in It Was a Good Day. It Was a Good Day was one of the biggest and most popular hits in the 90s. It Was a Good Day is my featured Throwback Thursday track.
