Welcome to another Thursday as that mean we are closer to the weekend. Once again, this was a great week of music that made my playlist. There was a number of R&B albums that made the list. H-Town, Juslisen from Musiq Soulchild and a Body & Soul joint. Until the End of Time by 2Pac, the new album from Future and Dayton Family made the list. B.G. It’s All On U, The Geto Boys Resurrection and a personal mixtape was also played. Like always, most of my playlist could have the featured Throwback Thursday joint. The other album that wasn’t mentioned, but will have the featured track is Food & Liquor. As we all know, Food & Liquor is the classic debut project from Lupe Fiasco. Before the album dropped, many people remember his classic verse on Touch the Sky from Kanye’s Late Registration album.
Lupe was known for his mixtapes before hitting the mainstream. Once he hit, Fiasco was compared to many legends with his lyricism and crazy flow. The Food & Liquor album went gold and reach #1 as the top rap album on Billboard. Lupe Fiasco released three singles off the classic album. Either one of them would make a great featured track, but I’ll go in another direction. There are so many tracks to choose from this album, but Hurt Me Soul gets the nod. Honestly, there are about 8 tracks that could’ve been picked, but this is the one for me. Hurt Me Soul is definitely one of the gems off Food & Liquor. Check out the track up above for Hurt Me Soul. […] Liquor album; the track was really smooth with it being an ode to a male and female skateboarder. Kick, Push was released five months before the album was released as the album was pushed back indefinitely […]
