The mid-80s, especially around 1987 and 1988 produced some hip hop classics. 35 years ago today Eric B & Rakim released their Paid in Full album. Paid in Full has been listed as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all-time. Rakim influenced a slew of great MCs like Nas, Jay-Z, 50 Cent and many more. Paid in Full has also been named by rappers as one of the most influential projects. Eric B for President was the first single and they dropped that in 1986. They proceeded to dropped four other singles in 1987. About a year later, the iconic duo released their Follow the Leader album. Paid in Full still remains in the rotation after all these years.
