Special Ed I Got It Made for Throwback Thursday

As we continue to celebrate hip hop’s 50th anniversary we pay respect to those that may not get their props. Last week we pay homage to J.J. Fad and their classic Supersonic. This week we will turn our attention to Special Ed. Special Ed released his debut album back in 1989 at the age of 17-years-old. Youngest in Charge was the name of the album and it peaked in the top-10 of R&B/Hip-Hop albums. The first single released from the album was I Got It Made. I Got It Made is a hip hop classic and one of my favorite songs of all-time. When that joint dropped it was one of the first songs I knew word for word. In 1998, Youngest in Charge was named as one of the 100 Best Rap Albums Ever. I’m the Magnificent was another track many hip hop heads still give love too.

I Got It Made is my featured Throwback Thursday joint for this week. Special Ed went on to release a total of four albums in his career. He went on to produce music for the likes of 2Pac. Special Ed has been in headlines as he was a guest on the Drink Champs podcast. The episode is full of gems from his relationship with 2Pac and for what he said about N.W.A. Check out the video for I Got It Made up above. Below you can peep the track listing and stream link for the Youngest in Charge album.
