The Eminem Show Album Turns 20 Years Old Today

Eminem is the highest ever selling rappers ever. Slim Shady is one of the greatest to ever touch the mic. Eminem is known for his wacky stuff, witty metaphors, crazy flow and offer the wall humor. Either way, he can rap his ass off and no one can take that away from him. 20 years ago today, Eminem released his fourth album titled The Eminem Show. To commemorate the 20th anniversary, he is releasing the expanded version of the album. The follow-up to the Marshall Mathers LP sold over 12 million records. The Eminem Show has sold over 27 million copies worldwide making it one of the best selling albums ever. Eminem got away from his Slim Shady moniker for this one and dropped a more personal album. Shady also went political by attacking George Bush, the war on terror, Osama bin Laden, and many others.

Eminem released a total of 5 singles from the album. The releases spanned over a year starting with the track Without Me. Without Me went on to win several awards and selling a whopping seven million singles in the process. Cleanin’ Out My Closet was one of those personal tracks Eminem released. Cleanin’ Out My Closet was the second single, and it was one of his personal records. The track was basically him venting about how his mother raised him and it sold a couple million also. Superman was his next single and it wasn’t one of my favorite tracks from him. Sing for the Moment followed, and it was one of the better tracks from The Eminem Show. The final single dropped in the summer of 2003, and it was called Business. While Business wasn’t as popular as the other singles this was another dope track from Eminem.

On Business, his flow is what made him become one of my favorites to listen to. It’s hard to believe that The Eminem Show is 20 years old as it seems like it dropped yesterday. Eminem dropped an album a couple years ago but has been quiet lately. The last we heard from him was the amazing Super Bowl Halftime Show. It’s hard to pick my top 5 tracks because there are so many to choose from. Business, Soldier, Till I Collapse, Cleanin’ Out My Closet and Say What You Say are my top 5 now. The entire album is my featured Throwback Thursday joint as we celebrate its 20-year anniversary. Check out the track listing for The Eminem Show followed by the stream link below.
