The Game LAX Turns 15 Years Old Today

The Game began his career as an independent artist and was later discovered by Dr. Dre. Dr. Dre put him with 50 Cent and The Game released his major label debut in 2005. The Documentary was the name of the album and it’s one of my favorite hip hop albums ever. The Documentary received a lot of praised when it dropped and throughout the years. After the release of The Documentary, the Game was locked into a feud with 50 Cent and G-Unit. The Game was dropped by his label and his second album was released under another label. The Doctor’s Advocate was released the following year and it received praised also. The Game has said it’s his favorite album of his and it was another great project from him. Almost two years later, The Game dropped his third major album, and it was called LAX.

The Game LAX turns 15 years old today and it sold almost 240,000 copies the opening week. LAX featured a lot of big names as features as well as on the production side. Nas, Ludacris, Common, Ice Cube, Lil Wayne, Raekwon, DMX, and Keyshia Cole are some of the features. The first official single “Game’s Pain” featuring Keyshia Cole was released on April 29, 2008. The upbeat track was a nice hit, but it wasn’t one of my favorite songs. The second single was another one that didn’t do it for me either. Dope Boys was the name and it featured Travis Barker from Blink-182. The third and final single was called My Life and it featured Lil Wayne. My Life was a nice track, and it was featured on several mixtapes during this time. This was an album that was purchased, but the singles had me skeptical.

The Game had a track record for putting out good music is the reason for buying it. While it’s not as good as his first two this was still a solid album. What do you think about the LAX album?
