Thug Life Cradle to the Grave for Throwback Thursday

Thug Life Cradle to the Grave for Throwback Thursday

Welcome to another Thursday as that mean we are closer to the weekend. The big news coming out of music this week was Kendrick Lamar announcing his new album arriving May 13th. It has been 5 years since he released his Pulitzer winning Damn album. My playlist this week consisted of a couple of classics. Death Certificate from Ice Cube and The Eminem Show by Eminem. Kingpin Skinny Pimp’s down south classic King of Da Playaz Ball also made its way to the playlist. Trill OG from Bun B was also played and a personal 8Ball & MJG Greatest Hits compilation also. We finished with Baduizm from Erykah Badu and the Black Market joint from Rick Ross. As you can see, there are a lot to choose from as far as a featured Throwback Thursday joint. The last album that wasn’t mentioned is the Thug Life Volume 1 album.

As we all know, Thug Life was the group 2Pac put out right after his Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z project. Thug Life also was released less than six months before the classic Me Against the World album. The album was amazing and one of the tracks, Pour Out a Little Liquor was featured on the Above the Rim Soundtrack. Volume 1 went gold and it was a classic album. With so many to choose from my featured Throwback Thursday track is Cradle to the Grave. Cradle to the Grave was their second single and one of my favorite tracks off the album. Unfortunately, this was the only album they put out. The featured track, Bury Me a G, Str8 Ballin’, Under Pressure and How Long Will They Mourn Me are my top 5 tracks. Check out the video above and the track listing and stream links to Volume 1 below.

  1. Bury Me a G ft. Natasha Walker
  2. Don’t Get It Twisted
  3. Shit Don’t Stop ft. Y.N.V.
  4. Pour Out a Little Liquor
  5. Stay True
  6. How Long Will They Mourn Me? Ft. Nate Dogg
  7. Under Pressure
  8. Street Fame
  9. Cradle to the Grave
  10. Str8 Ballin’
