Top 5 QBs Heading Into The 2022 NFL Season

The preseason is finally over and we now await the cut down to the 53-man roster. The regular season begins next Thursday night as the defending champion Rams host the Buffalo Bills. This is a battle between two teams that are favorites to reach the Super Bowl in their respective conference. Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills and Matthew Stafford are two of the best signal callers in the league. Are they amongst the top 5 QBs heading into the 2022 season? Let’s see who are the top 5 QBs heading into the 2022 NFL season.

Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers is the reigning 2-time league MVP heading into the season. Rodgers will have to work his magic this season. Davante Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders during the offseason. Marquez Valdes-Scantling signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in the offseason. Rodgers lost his two prime targets and he’s already called out his young receiving core. Rodgers does have two great running backs in Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillion. Can the defending 2-time MVP get his young receivers on the same page as him? Will the loss of Adams be too much for the Packers and Aaron Rodgers?

Tom Brady

Tom Brady is 45-years-old and he’s arguably playing some of his best football. Brady was named #1 in the NFL’s top-100 players this past weekend. Brady has also made headlines for taking time away from the team during training camp. While Brady won’t have Gronk to throw to this coming season, the Bucs still has weapons. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin is still around and they also brought in Julio Jones to the mix. Brady and the Bucs are one of the favorites in the NFC to go to the Super Bowl. Can Brady get his unprecedented 8th ring this season?

Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes has been magic ever since he took over the starting job for the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes has captured an MVP and Super Bowl championship. While the Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill, they have replenished the receiving core for this upcoming year. The AFC West figures to be a dog fight this season as the Broncos, Chargers and Raiders all improved. Mahomes is arguably the top signal caller even in a division with Russell Wilson, Justin Herbert and David Carr.

Josh Allen

Josh Allen was the favorite to win the MVP award a season ago. The Buffalo Bills were picked by many people to make it to the Super Bowl. While they didn’t make it, Allen and the Bills are poised to make that run this year. Josh Allen arguably has the best arms in the league. Allen is also a big guy and can run in an instance. Allen is also surrounded by good receivers. Ever since the Bills acquired Stefan Diggs, he’s gotten better. Buffalo rewarded Diggs with a nice contract extension to keep him and Allen happy.

Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson never gets the credit he deserves. This is a guy that has never received a single vote for league MVP. The last two years in Seattle saw him running for his life every time he dropped back to pass. Russell was traded to Denver and he will greatly benefit from this. Denver has a better offensive line than the Seahawks and they have some weapons also. The last spot was literally a toss-up between Wilson, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert. Unfortunately, I’m having the Broncos finishing last in the tough AFC West.
