Week 14 is in the books, and we are now in the final quarter of the season. The Philadelphia Eagles became the first team to clinch a playoff berth. They defeated the Giants 48-22 on the road and made Jalen Hurts the MVP frontrunner. My Week 14 NFL predictions produced a 6-3 record. My first loss came when the Rams stormed back to defeat the Las Vegas Raiders. Baker Mayfield was picked up by the Rams after being waived by Carolina. Mayfield guide 2 impressive drives to in the end to lead the Rams to the victory. The second came when the Detroit Lions defeated the Minnesota Vikings. Minnesota had a chance to clinch the NFC North division with a win over Detroit. The third and final loss came when the Baltimore Ravens beat Pittsburgh and they were without Lamar Jackson. Could Jacksonville and Detroit be playoff bound this year?
Jacksonville handed the Titans their 3rd consecutive defeat in a row. With the win, the Jaguars moved within two games of the Titans in the AFC South. Cincinnati continued their winning ways by defeating Cleveland. The win was the 5th in a row by the Bengals and they remain tied atop of the AFC North with Baltimore. Kansas City and Buffalo continued their winning ways by defeating division rivals. San Francisco blew out Tampa Bay, but they had a scare when Deebo Samuels went down with an ankle injury. With everyone healthy now, the Chargers took down Miami on Sunday night with a masterful performance by Justin Herbert. Kyler Murray tore his ACL in the Cardinals loss to New England on Monday Night. This week I’ll be predicting a total of 9 games. Let’s get started!
We start things off with the Thursday Night game on Amazon Prime Video. The San Francisco 49ers head up to Seattle to take on the Seahawks. The Niners are on a 6-game winning streak and now they have overtaken the Seahawks atop of the NFC West. San Francisco is one of the favorites to reach the Super Bowl due to their defense. After adding Christian McCaffrey, the offense is on another level. Seattle was atop of the division but losing 3 of 4 games have dropped them into second place. Seattle lost to Carolina at home, and they needed that win badly. The next two games after this one will be against the Chiefs and Jets. The playoffs could be an afterthought because San Francisco should win this one. 49ers Win 27-17
We have a battle between AFC East foes in this Saturday night game. The Miami Dolphins heads up north to battle the Buffalo Bills. This is the final game of Miami’s 3-game road trip. The Dolphins dropped the first two to the 49ers and Chargers. In both games, Tua was off, and the offense struggled for the most part. Miami is two games behind the Bills for the division lead. The Dolphins currently hold one of the Wild Card spots, but only by 1 game. Buffalo sits atop of the AFC as we head down the final stretch of the season. They are currently riding a 4-game winning streak. Josh Allen is starting to get healthier when it comes to his lingering elbow injury. With it being cold weather, they will need to rely on their running game. Buffalo gets revenge on Miami in this one. Bills Win 30-20
We head to the NFC South for this critical matchup. The Atlanta Falcons makes the trip to New Orleans to take on the Saints. Despite losing 4 of 5 games, the Falcons find themselves a game behind the Bucs for 1st place. Atlanta will turn to rookie Desmond Ridder for the remainder of the season. With the offense being inefficient, the Falcons benched Marcus Mariota in favor of the rookie. How will Ridder handle his first start on the road against a tough Saints defense? New Orleans has also dropped 4 of their last 5 games and enter with a 4-9 record. The NFC South is bad, and they are only 2 games behind Tampa. New Orleans has dealt with injuries all season, but the defense is still good. New Orleans frustrates the rookie on their way to the win. Saints Win 24-14
Who thought this matchup between the Lions and Jets would have possible implications at the start of the season? The Detroit Lions travel to New York to take on the Jets. The Lions have won 5 of their last 6 games after starting the season 1-6. They opened eyes when they beat the Giants a few weeks ago. After defeating Minnesota last week, people took notice to how well this team is playing. The only loss they had was a 28-25 defeat to the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving Day. The Jets have lost 3 of 4 games heading into this matchup. Mike White is limited in practice after his ribs were injured last week. The defense will always keep them in the game, but Detroit is different with all those weapons. I’m on the Detroit bandwagon and think they will win. Lions Win 31-27
We have one of the more intriguing matchups for Week 15. The Dallas Cowboys hit the road to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. Dallas is riding a 4-game winning streak. They escaped with a win last week against the 1-win Texans. The Cowboys defense has been labeled as one of the best in the league. The offense added veteran wideout T.Y. Hilton for the playoff run. Could the Cowboys be overlooking Jacksonville seeing they face the Eagles next weekend? Jacksonville is starting to put things together. They defeated Tennessee handily last week on the road. Trevor Lawrence is starting to look like the generational QB many thought he was. They’re two games behind the Titans in the AFC South. This is an intriguing game and I’m going with the upset of Jacksonville over Dallas. Jaguars Win 24-23
We have two AFC squads with identical records heading in opposite directions. The Tennessee Titans head out to Los Angeles to battle the Chargers. After winning 6 of 7, the Titans have dropped three in a row. The defense has given up 35 and 36 points in back-to-back losses. The offense is one dimensional and the defense is starting to suffer with all the injuries. The way Tennessee is playing, the final game of the season in Jacksonville could be for the division. The Chargers are starting to get healthy for the first time all season. They are tied with the Jets and Patriots for the final Wild Card spot. New England holds the tiebreaker, but this Los Angeles team is dangerous. The woes continue for Tennessee and Los Angeles continues to climb. Chargers Win 31-20
We have the Cincinnati making that trip down south to Tampa to face the Bucs. The Bengals are currently riding a 5-game winning streak and arguably the hottest team in the AFC. Cincinnati is slowly looking like the team that made that Super Bowl run a year ago. The last three weeks the defense has really stepped up their game. Cincinnati is dealing with injuries to some of their key players entering the game. Tampa has dropped two of three and have a 6-7 record, but they still lead their division. They were just blown out last week by the San Francisco 49ers. The Bucs need to win to create momentum as the playoffs nears. The Bucs have a favorable final three games, but they could use a confidence booster against Cincy. Tampa finds a way to edge the Bengals. Bucs Win 27-24
This is the Sunday Night game between two NFC East rivals. The New York Giants heads to the nations capital to face the Washington Commanders. The Giants haven’t won a game in about a month after a great start to the season. They met Washington about three weeks ago and the game ended in a tie. They have struggled on both sides of the ball and Saquon Barkley is dealing with a nagging neck injury. If the season ended today both teams would make the playoffs. The loser of this one would still hold the final Wild Card spot. The Commanders haven’t lost a game in a month. One of those wins came against the then previously unbeaten Eagles. The defense is one of the better ones in the league and they’re getting healthier. Washington should win this one. Commanders Win 24-17
We have the Monday Night game between two of the more disappointing teams in the league. The Los Angeles Rams head to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. The Rams ended their 6-game losing streak last week thanks to Baker Mayfield. The recently acquired quarterback lead the Rams on an impressive come from behind win. Baker will have a whole week to get more used to the system. Can they make it two in a row? Who thought the Packers would be 5-8 entering this contest? Green Bay notched a win over Chicago to end their 2-game losing streak last week. Aaron Rodgers is still dealing with the effects of his broken thumb. The defense is one of the worse when playing the run. For some reason I’m picking Green Bay to leave with the win. Packers Win 31-21
