Trav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL Predictions

Week 5 is in the books and we still have an undefeated team in the NFL. The Philadelphia Eagles barely edged the Arizona Cardinals to remain undefeated. My Week 5 predictions fell flat after an amazing week. My record was 4-5, which dropped my overall mark to 29-20. The winning percentage took another hit dropping from 62.5 to 59.2%. With the Eagles, Cowboys and Giants off to great starts, could the NFC East be the best division in the league? New York surprised many by beating Green Bay in London due to their defense stopping Rodgers on the final drive. Dallas smothered the Rams offense and Matthew Stafford as they beat the Rams on the road. The Buffalo Bills destroyed the Pittsburgh Steelers 38-3. Miami dropped their second game in a row after falling to the resurgent New York Jets.

Carolina was blown out by the 49ers and it cost Matt Rhule his job. If that’s not enough, Baker Mayfield could miss between 2-6 weeks with an ankle injury. The Houston Texans picked up their first win of the season by defeating Jacksonville. In a classic AFC North battle, we saw Lamar Jackson lead the Ravens on a game winning drive as they beat the Bengals 19-17. In a close game on Monday Night, the Chiefs defeated the Raiders in a AFC West matchup. This week I’ll be predicting another 10 games with hopes of having a better week. Let’s get started!

Trav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsTrav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsAs usual, we kick things off with the Thursday night game. The Washington Commanders will head to Chicago to battle the Bears. Washington is coming off their fourth consecutive loss. If that’s not enough, Coach Rivera made some startling comments about Carson Wentz. Rivera has since apologized, but that doesn’t look good for the team especially when it’s the defense that’s the issue. Wentz will face another blitzing defense in the Bears. With Chicago, they’ve dropped two in a row but the offense kind of came to life against Minnesota. The defensive line will get after Justin Fields, but will he avoid turnovers and costly decisions? David Montgomery should be a huge factor in this game for the Bears. This is a toss-up, but I’m going with Washington to win this one. Commanders Win 20-17

Trav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsTrav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsWe have an old-school NFC West matchup as the 49ers travel to Atlanta to meet the Falcons. San Francisco have won two in a row and found themselves on top of the division. The 49ers defense hasn’t given up 20 points in one game this season. The Niners are getting healthier as they continue their cross-country trip. Will the 49ers make it three in a row in Atlanta? Many believe that the Falcons should be entering this game in first place in their division. The bad roughing the passer call on Brady diminished their chances to beat the Bucs. Atlanta will still be without Cordarrelle Patterson, but they’re hoping that Kyle Pitts will be available for this one. Atlanta would have trouble if they were fully healthy, but they’re not so I’m riding with San Francisco. 49ers Win 24-14

Trav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsTrav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsThe New York Jets will take a trip to Lambeau Field to battle the Green Bay Packers. Surprisingly, the Jets enter this game with a 3-2 record after winning two games in a row. New York is being led by rookie running back Breece Hall. Hall has become an explosive dual-action threat to opposing defenses. Can the Jets handle Rodgers as this team have a lot to prove after losing to the Giants. Green Bay is still trying to find an identity on offense with the young receiving core. Aaron Jones should be involved in every way possible in this contest. Can Rodgers and the Packers turn things around and avoid going 3-3? This should be closer than expected, but I’m picking Green Bay to win this one. Packers Win 30-20

Trav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsTrav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsWe have the Minnesota Vikings making the trip down south to take on the Miami Dolphins. The Vikings have won three in a row and have taken over the NFC North lead in the process. After a bad couple of weeks, Justin Jefferson broke out last week with an incredible performance. The Vikings defense is looking to take advantage of the Miami offense who is still without Tua. Will the Vikings make it 4 in a row? Miami started the season 3-0 and were riding high as the darlings of the NFL. After beating Baltimore and Buffalo, the Dolphins have dropped two in a row which includes a 23-point loss to the Jets. Miami needs a bounce back game to rewrite some of the issues that has taken over this franchise. Unfortunately for them, Minnesota is one of the better teams and should leave with the win. Vikings Win 31-21

Trav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsTrav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsThe Jacksonville Jaguars will make the trip up north to battle AFC South foe the Indianapolis Colts. After 3 weeks, the Jaguars were 2-1 and the league was starting to take notice. How quickly things have changed? Jacksonville experienced back-to-back losses to the Eagles and Texans. Houston smothered this offense as the Jaguars only scored 6 points. They are still in contention in the division and would need a win over Indy to leapfrog them. Indianapolis is one of those teams you just can’t figure out. They were one of the teams many believed to be a Super Bowl contender in the AFC. After beating the Broncos on the road 12-9, we still don’t know exactly who they are? The offense looked depleted last week, but that’s because they were without Jonathon Taylor. Indy should win this home game. Colts Win 20-17

Trav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsTrav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsThe Baltimore Ravens will travel to New York to face the Giants. Baltimore is coming off a walk-off win over their division rival Bengals. Baltimore ranks in the top-5 of points scored as most of their offense comes from the ground. Lamar Jackson is leading the team in passing and rushing. The Ravens should get J.K. Dobbins more involved in the running game. New York is off to a surprising 4-1 start. After beating Green Bay, the Giants schedule sets up nicely for a nice run. Could the Giants be the best team in the NFC? Saquon Barkley is looking like he should have been on the list for best running backs in the league. How will this Giants defense handle the unique skillset of Jackson? This should be a close one, but I’m picking New York to win again. Giants Win 24-21

Trav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsTrav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsWe have the Cincinnati Bengals heading south to battle the New Orleans Saints. After losing their first two games, Cincinnati won two in a row. Last Sunday night, the Bengals fell to Baltimore on a last-second field goal. The issue is that they can’t run the ball well enough to open up the passing game. They’re averaging less than 92 yards a game on the ground. Can they turn it around in New Orleans? The Saints finally ended their 3-game losing strength on the back of Taysom Hill. Chris Olave has been amazing and they could get Jameis Winston also. The defense surprisingly is one of the worse in the league. New Orleans have had issues getting to the opposing QB. With Joe Burrow that could mean trouble. Cincinnati finds a way to win this one on the road. Bengals Win 27-24

Trav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsTrav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsWe have one of the biggest early season matchups this weekend. The Buffalo Bills travel to Kansas City to battle the Chiefs. This will be the rematch of the instant classic playoff game from a year ago. Buffalo is arguably the best team in the league. They scored the 2nd most points in the league while giving up the second least. Josh Allen could have a field day on the Chiefs defense. Kansas City leads the league in scoring. The defense also gives up a fair amount of points also. This could possibly be the most anticipated game in the AFC this season. This should be a nail-biter and I’m thinking Buffalo edges by the Chiefs. Bills Win 34-31

Trav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsTrav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsWe have the Sunday Night game between the two best teams in the NFC East. The Dallas Cowboys head to Philadelphia to battle the undefeated Eagles. The question heading into this contest is the availability of Dak Prescott? Cooper Rush has been amazing as he’s lead the Cowboys to a 4-0 record as the starter. The Dallas defense is one of the best in the league giving up a little over 14 points a game. Philadelphia has had a player of the week from the team every week this year. Jalen Hurts has looked like an MVP candidate with the offense being top-10 in many categories. The defense has smothered opposing offenses also. This is probably the most anticipated game in the NFC this season. It should be close, but I’m picking Philly to remain undefeated. Eagles Win 24-21

Trav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsTrav’s 2022 Week 6 NFL PredictionsWe have the final game of the week and it’s the Monday Night game. The Denver Broncos will have another primetime game as they head to Los Angeles to battle the Chargers. Denver ranks almost dead last in points per game with 15. Russell Wilson has been limited due to having a partial tear in his lat. The Broncos defense have kept them in games, including last week’s loss to the Colts at home. Los Angeles was one of the top teams mentioned by many in the AFC at the start of the season. Despite winning two in a row, the defense has been giving up a lot of points. With Joey Bosa injured, the Chargers can’t get to the QB. They give up a lot of points, but that may change with them facing Denver as they should win. Chargers Win 30-20
