Week 6 is in the books and the Philadelphia Eagles remain the lone undefeated team in the league. On Sunday Night, the Eagles defeated their NFC East rival Cowboys to go to 6-0. My Week 5 predictions garnered an 8-2 record, which raised my overall mark. My overall record is 37-22, which raised my winning percentage from 59.2 to 62.7%. My only losses were the Falcons beating the 49ers, which was a shocker. The other loss shocked many people when the Jets went to Lambeau Field and beat the Packers. In a battle between the two best teams in the AFC, Buffalo left Kansas City with the win. Josh Allen is arguably the frontrunner for the MVP now. The Colts continue to try to turn their season around after defeating Jacksonville. Indianapolis is still without the best running back in the league in Jonathon Taylor.
Baltimore fell to the New York Giants after they couldn’t hold another lead. Lamar Jackson needs a deep threat and now they’re bringing in Desean Jackson to maybe solve that problem. The downfall of Tampa Bay continues as they lost to Pittsburgh 20-18. Brady scolded his offensive line, and it seems like that team is in disarray. Minnesota and Cincinnati picked up big wins on the road in Miami and New Orleans. The Los Angeles Chargers beat their AFC West rival Broncos in OT to improve to 4-2. This week there will be a total of 7 games being predicted. Let’s see if things can continue to go in the right direction.
We start off with the Thursday Night game on Amazon Prime Video between two disappointing teams. The Arizona Cardinals will head to New Orleans to take on the Saints. New Orleans is banged up and injuries have derailed their season thus far. The entire receiving core have dealt with injuries this season. Despite losing four of five games, the Saints is only a game behind the Bucs and Falcons for 1st place. Arizona comes into this game with a 2-4 record like the Saints. Arizona receives help this game as DeAndre Hopkins returns from his 6-game suspension. Kyler Murray has been running for his life thus far. Hollywood Brown could be gone for the year, but the Cardinals traded for Robbie Anderson. Arizona should start putting things together and should win this contest. Cardinals Win 27-17
We have a matchup between two 3-3 teams that’s tied for the lead in their division. The Atlanta Falcons heads up north to Cincinnati to battle the Bengals. Atlanta have won three of their last four games, many believe the Falcons should be 4-2, but the bad roughing the passer call against Brady diminished that. Atlanta surprised many by defeating the 49ers and putting up 28 points in the process. Can the Falcons upset the Bengals? Cincinnati has also won three of their last four games heading into this contest. How will this Bengals offensive line holdup against the Falcons defense? With Atlanta having injuries in the secondary, will Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati offense take advantage of it? Atlanta is a feisty team that’s surpassing expectations, but Cincinnati should win. Bengals Win 30-20
We have an AFC South matchup between the two top teams in the division. The division leading Indianapolis Colts head south to Tennessee to battle the Titans. The Colts have battled back after some abysmal games and taken the lead in the division. The last two win for the Colts came without having Jonathan Taylor, who’s dealing with an ankle injury. Matt Ryan is starting to look like he’s getting a grasp of the offense. Tennessee is coming off their bye week riding a 3-game winning streak. The defense is starting to look like the one from a season ago. Derrick Henry is starting to find his groove. Ryan Tannehill and the passing offense is ranked in the bottom five in pass yards. Tennessee should walk away with the victory over the Colts. Titans Win 26-21
We head out west as the Seattle Seahawks head south to Los Angeles to meet the Chargers. Seattle is one of the surprising teams in the league thus far. They are looked in a 3-way tie for the lead in the NFC West. Geno Smith has balled out this year, but the Seahawks defense still can’t stop too many people. Despite only giving up 9 points to Arizona last week, Seattle’s defense is tied for second with most points allowed. Justin Herbert is slowly getting healthier, and the Chargers are during a 3-game winning streak. Keenan Allen could return from his hamstring injury in this game. The offense has struggled, and the defense have been underperforming to say the least. Los Angeles was one of the picks in the AFC that could make a run and they should win this one. Chargers Win 31-20
We have a pair of preseason Super Bowl contenders meeting each other out west. The Kansas City Chiefs head out west to San Francisco to take on the 49ers. Kansas City is coming off their loss to Buffalo at home. The Chiefs only managed to score 20 points last week. Kansas City is still one of the more dynamic offenses in the league and Mahomes is still an MVP candidate. San Francisco is also coming off a loss as they fell to the Falcons in Atlanta. The Niners have been one of the better defenses, but Marcus Mariota lit them up. The defense has their hands full with Kansas City and I’m picking the Chiefs to win on the road. Chiefs Win 30-24
The Pittsburgh Steelers heads down south to Miami to face the Dolphins. Pittsburgh defeated Tampa Bay last week to end their 4-game losing streak. Kenny Pickett went out with an injury last week and Mitchell Trubisky came on to lead the Steelers to the upset. Pittsburgh has suffered from injuries on the defensive side of the ball. How will the defense handle Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle? Miami opened the season winning their first 3 games. The Dolphins dropped the next three games and they’re hoping to end their losing streak. Tua returns after going down with that scary concussion. The offense hasn’t looked the same without him and I’m thinking the team will be rejuvenated. Miami should win this game on Sunday Night. Dolphins Win 31-17
The Chicago Bears head to New England to battle the Patriots on Monday Night football. The Bears are in the midst of a 3-game losing streak after falling to Washington last week. Chicago only managed to score 7 points last week in the loss. Chicago is 2nd in the league in rushing, but they’re ranked last in pass offense. They are also next to last in points scored and the New England defense won’t make it better. The Patriots enter this game on a 2-game winning streak. The offense has scored 67 points in those two games. The defense has given up 15 points in that span and that includes a shoutout of the Lions. Bailey Zappe continues to look great in relief of Mac Jones as the signal caller. Whoever will be the QB on Monday Night won’t matter because New England wins. Patriots Win 31-21
