Usher My Way Turns 25 Years Old Today

Usher is one of the greatest entertainers of all-time. It’s hard to believe that his debut album was released back in 1994. In 1997, Usher became a star and a household name with the My Way album. My Way is his second album and today marks its 25th anniversary of its release. While his first album didn’t garner any plaques, but My Way sold over 7 million copies. It’s hard to believe that Usher released My Way 25 years ago today. There were 3 singles and all of them are great tracks. You Make Me Wanna was the first one and it sold well over 2 million copies. The track was nominated for many awards and won the Billboard award for Pop Singer of the Year. You Make Me Wanna won the Best R&B/Soul Single, Male category at the 1998 Soul Train Music Awards also.

Nice & Slow was the second single and it dropped in January of 1998. It was another smash-hit as it went triple platinum. Nice & Slow was praised as one of Usher’s greatest hits. In 2016, Complex ranked the song number seven on their list of the 25 greatest Usher songs. The third and final single was the title track and that’s My Way. My Way earned Usher another platinum plaque for the 19 year-old. The album features guest appearances from Monica, Jermaine Dupri, and Lil’ Kim. You Make Me Wanna, Nice & Slow, My Way, Slow Jam and I Will are my top 5 tracks. My Way is probably my second favorite album from Usher with Confessions being the top one.
