We have talked about who could possibly with their respected divisions in the AFC. The attention has now turned to the NFC, and we kick things off in the NFC East. The Dallas Cowboys have basically run the division the last couple years. The NFC East haven’t had a repeat division winner for several years and the Cowboys are hoping to change that this season. The New York Giants are hoping to make some progress this season. As far as the Philadelphia Eagles, they made a lot of offseason moves and drafted well. Can the new additions to the Eagles make them the frontrunner this season? The Washington Commanders dealt with a plethora of injuries last season. Can they put everything together and win the division for the second time in three years? Who wins the NFC East division in 2022?
The Dallas Cowboys went into the offseason with a lot of uncertainties. They had to make some changes because their cap situation. They traded Amari Cooper to the Browns was the first domino to fall. After Dallas moved on from Cooper, they signed Michael Gallup to a huge extension. They also lost Cedrick Wilson in free agency as he signed with the Miami Dolphins. The Cowboys were dealt a huge blow on defense as Randy Gregory signed a free agent deal with the Denver Broncos. Micah Parsons will continue to be a beast getting after the quarterback. On offense, it will fall on the shoulders of Dak Prescott. Dallas added James Washington to help the receiving core on a one-year deal. On defense, they added Dante Fowler on a 1-year deal also. Can and will the Dallas Cowboys repeat as NFC East division champs?
New York Giants
The New York Giants are hitting the reset button this upcoming season. They got off on the right foot by hiring Brian Daboll from Buffalo as their new coach. They are hoping Daboll can get the most out of Daniel Jones. It has been rumored that this could be the final season for Jones. Jones missed the final part of last season, so they signed Tyrod Taylor to be his backup. Saquan Barkley is entering this season with a lot of uncertainties also and will be looking to prove himself. New York added help on the offensive line to protect the quarterback. They drafted Evan Neal out of Alabama to sure up the offensive line with one of their top-10 picks. On defense, they picked up Kayvon Thibodeaux the talented pass rusher out of Oregon. The Giants are headed in the right direction, but will this be the year they put it together and challenge for division supremacy.
The Philadelphia Eagles made the playoffs a season ago despite not having a lot of talent on the offensive side. Jalen Hurts is entering his second full season as the starting QB. The Eagles traded for A.J. Brown and gave him a huge extension. They also added Zach Pascal to a receiving core that’s one of the better ones in the league. On defense, they drafted Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean out of Georgia. Those two could be the key pieces to the future of the Eagles defense. Haason Reddick was also signed along with Kyzir White to make the defense even better. Philadelphia also bolstered the secondary in the process. They signed James Bradberry to go alongside Darius Slay. Can Jalen Hurts make that huge next step? If so, this could be your NFC East division winner.
The Washington Commanders is looking to win the NFC East for the second time in three years. The Commanders are hoping to get healthier this season and that starts with Chase Young. Young is the anchor on the defense and he’s coming back from a torn ACL. If the Commanders defensive line can stay healthy, it will help the secondary immensely. Washington traded for Carson Wentz and they’re hoping he can turn back the clock from a few years ago. They upgraded the offensive line to help protect Wentz in the process. They extend one of the better receivers in the league by giving Terry McLourin a hefty extension. Will Washington put it all together and surprised people by contending in the NFC East?
