Who Wins the AFC East Division in 2023?

We have looked at the AFC West, South, and North so it’s time for the East. Heading into the season, many see this division as a 3-team race. The Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and New York Jets all will be vying for the AFC East crown. The Buffalo Bills reigned supreme for the past couple of years. Will that trend continue this season? Buffalo continues to try and find a way to finally make it to the Super Bowl. The New York Jets upgraded their quarterback position with the hopes of making a run in the playoffs. Miami also made some moves during the offseason, but everything hinges on the health of Tua. New England is hoping to head in the right direction and get back to their winning ways. Who will win the AFC East in 2023?
Buffalo Bills
The Bills will open as one of the favorites in the AFC to reach the Super Bowl. Josh Allen will be an MVP candidate again this season. Many didn’t know if Stephon Diggs would even be on the team because of their offseason issues. The defense lost Tremaine Edmunds to Chicago during the offseason. Matt Milano is still one of the better linebackers in the league, so I’m thinking the Bills will be fine. Von Miller will return this season after being out all last season. To help Josh Allen more, Buffalo brought in Connor McGovern. Allen absorbed too many hits last season and it mostly had to do with the interior line. Keeping Jordan Poyer was huge for Buffalo as he continues to be one of the best safeties in the league. Can Buffalo repeat as AFC East champions?
Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins have continued to make improvements to every aspect of their team. They began things off by bringing Jalen Ramsey to help on the defensive side. Miami traded for Jalen Ramsey, and it paired him with Xavier Howard. Unfortunately for Miami, Ramsey tore his meniscus in his knee but he still hope to return this season. This year is all about Tua Tagovailoa and his health. The Dolphins exercised the 5th year option on his contract and brought in key pieces around him. Miami re-signed Raheem Mostert as he provides speed in the backfield. The Dolphins have been mentioned as a possible destination for Jonathan Taylor. If Miami adds Taylor, that could be the difference in division championship and potential Super Bowl contenders. Can Tua stay healthy and lead the Dolphins to the AFC East championship?
New England Patriots
The New England Patriots have been the least talked about team in the AFC East. Buffalo is still trying to make that elusive Super Bowl appearance. Miami is hoping to remain healthy, and they have a shot at the division. With the Jets adding Aaron Rodgers, they have been catapulted themselves into instant contenders. New England will go as far as Mac Jones can take them. After a promising start to his career, Mac Jones has struggled to the point many thought he’d lose his job last season. The Patriots added pieces on offense to help further develop Jones. JuJu Smith-Schuster, Mike Gesicki, and James Robinson should be instant contributors. The defense should still be a good one, but how will they fare in this division? Can the Patriots shock people and make a run in the AFC East?
New York Jets
The New York Jets had one plan this offseason and that was to upgrade the quarterback position. The Jets had some great pieces on offense, but Zach Wilson didn’t perform like they needed him to do so. New York traded for one of the best in Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers brings all his experience and greatness to this Jets team with the hopes of reaching the Super Bowl. This team had one of the best defenses in the league a year ago. New York continued to get better by signing Dalvin Cook to a one-year deal. With all the moves made by New York, can they compete with Miami and Buffalo for division supremacy? Will the Jets compete and win the AFC East? How about a Super Bowl run?
